Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
Our church family, along with other churches in HK through the Hong Kong Church Network for the Poor, is packing Peace Boxes for the underprivileged. Despite what’s happening around us, we still have the opportunity to reach and serve our community in practical and life-giving ways.
We have until Sunday March 29th (Community Sunday) to pack 150 PEACEBOXES for the poorer kids, youth, families and the elderly in HK. For ideas, there’s a sample PEACEBOX on the Outreach table in the circle area. For more information, please contact Grace or email her at email@example.com.
Now, more than ever, our neighbours are in need. Poor in Hong Kong: life is hardest for the elderly, jobless and single-parent families living on a pittance
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25: 40
To love is to give, to give is to love.
Jesus taught us to love our neighbours as ourselves, and the Outreach ministry serves as a channel to live out that command to those in need. Based on Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 25, the Outreach ministry provides not only financial assistance to selected organizations and charities in HK, China and disaster stricken areas around the world, but also encourages and organizes visits and programs for our church community to spend time and share the love of Christ with the beneficiaries of our funding.
Participating in an outreach visit is a great way to tenderize your heart and develop Christ-like compassion, realizing how fortunate most of us are relative to those we seek to serve and that it is indeed more blessed to give than to receive.
Have a look at our Outreach Partners below, or contact the office for more information or if you wish to connect with a member of the outreach team.
