As a church family, we have remained strong over many years because we have prayed together, and that has produced the love in action which the Body of Christ is all about. However, sustaining a personal prayer life does not come easy. The busyness and noise of modern living can leave us exhausted and unable to find either the mood or the time for prayer.

“Contemplative Practices” is an invitation to slow down and experience stillness and silence. It is an invitation to grow and deepen our prayer life. We will be exploring the various spiritual practices which are sometimes described as “contemplative”. Christian meditation (often referred to as “centering prayer”) is at the heart of it all. This is an ancient Christian practice, now revived, and we will learn how to use this to deepen our prayer life.

We will be meeting every fourth Wednesday evening starting on 26 October. Mark your diary. Come and join us. This is a great opportunity to further your journey of spiritual growth.

We will start with an introduction to Christian meditation. It’s about being quiet, removing distractions and giving our attention to the Holy Spirit within us.
