The most important holiday for Chinese around the world is undoubtedly Chinese New Year. In Hong Kong, Chinese family members will meet and make merry. However, some of the elderly, who are living in the elderly home or live alone by themselves, do not have families to celebrate the festive season. To fill them with God’s love, joy and hope, the Outreach ministry will invite 150 elderly members of the YWCA Cheng Pon Hing Care and Attention Home for the Elderly and 3 of the YWCA Elderly Community Centres to celebrate the Chinese New Year in our church sanctuary on Mar 4 after the Sunday services from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. We need volunteers to welcome and chat with the elderly, to join the singing, to assist the elderly to play the games, to pray for them and to give gifts to all the participants at the end of the event.
A signup sheet is ready at the welcome desk or Mary Keung can be contacted for more information.
