Join us at Community Church Hong Kong on Wednesday, February 14, for a meaningful Ash Wednesday 2024 observance. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of fasting, prayer, and penance leading up to Easter. It is a solemn reminder of human mortality and the need for reconciliation with God.
9am: Imposition of Ashes
1pm: Ash Wednesday Service and Imposition of Ashes
We will start the day with a basic imposition of ashes event at 9am. The ashes, made from blessed palm branches, are a visible symbol of penance and a reminder of our human frailty.
At 1pm, we will hold a sombre service alongside the imposition of ashes. This service is a time for reflection, confession, and seeking repentance. It serves as a powerful first step in the Lenten journey towards Easter, a season for self-examination and spiritual preparation.
We invite you to join us in this spiritual journey as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Easter. Whether you are a long-time believer or just exploring the Christian faith, all are welcome.
Join us on this day of observance on Wednesday, February 14 at at 9am and/or 1pm in the Church Worship Hall.
